Dog Day's of Summer.

It’s been a while since I’ve started this site and so far I haven’t updated.  I keep sitting down, writing a partial entry, and then never posting it.  I wasn’t expecting to be great at updating, but I didn’t think I’d be this bad.  I definitely have a new respect for bloggers!!

Anyways, so far it seems as though we haven’t done much with our summer even though it has flown by.  Mostly we’ve spent it relaxing (well I’ve spent it working, Perri has been the one relaxing.)  We did get the chance to go camping, swim in Nana’s pool, and play with lots of friends so I really can’t complain.

We had lots of changes last week.  Perri has been with my mom (her Gamma) all summer and now Gamma has to go back to her real job of teaching so Perr gets to go to Terri’s new day-care.  Terri (also known as TT) has been friends with my mom and Mel since they all went to high school together, so I’ve definitely known her for a while!  This summer TT decided that she didn’t want to be a preschool teacher anymore and she was ready to open her own daycare.  Perri and I are thrilled, TT is phenomenal with toddlers and Perr is already making progress being there!

Perri really is a great toddler.  She’s growing more and more by the day; she wears size 8 shoes and 3T clothes!  She’s not even 2!!
-She can get most of her shoes on and off by herself, and once she gets the shoe off, a sock comes off and is immediately made into a puppet.  Usually a roaring dinosaur.
-She loves to brush her own hair and teeth.
-She is great at latching herself into her car-seat and high-chair, but hasn’t ever tried to unlatch them.
-She still adores her dogs more than almost anything.
-All of her hair now fits into a pony tail and it might be the cutest thing you’ve ever seen.
-She loves to dance.
-Food preferences change daily.  Today applesauce and cherry tomatoes couldn’t be beat.
-Her vocabulary is growing exponentially.  (Thank God!)
Overall, she is really advanced for a 20 month old toddler and I’m always having to remind myself of how young she is.  My baby just looks so grown up!

Now that we are getting back into the routine of things, I think I will be able to keep up with this better!

At her first swim meet Uncle Freddie bought her her first Sno-Cone.  Of course she loved it!!
